McLean County is home to the farming operation of O’Neall Brothers and Scholl, L.L.C. Located in the heart of Illinois, McLean County sits midway between Chicago and St. Louis. It is one of the largest counties, in terms of acreage, in the United States. McLean County offers some of the most productive farmland, which often produces more grain than 30 of the 50 states.
Bloomington, the county seat, is a twin city to Normal, Illinois. The combined cities have a population which exceeds 115,000. Both the Bloomington and McLean County comprise the fastest-growing metropolitan area in Illinois. Since 1990, the area has experienced unprecedented population growth, expanding 28%. State Farm Insurance, Illinois State University, Mitsubishi Motors, and many others all call McLean County home.
Offering a unique infrastructure, Interstate 39, 55, and 74 all intersect in McLean County. Approximately 40 miles from the Illinois River and intersected by rail service going north, south, east, and west; McLean County offers convenient transport.
With these assets combined, McLean County creates an environment for anyone in agriculture to excel.
Raleigh, North Carolina is home to a managing partner of OBS, L.L.C. and the state capital of North Carolina. Along with Durham and Chapel Hill, Raleigh makes up an area affectionately known as “The Triangle.” This area is comprised of 1.5 million residents and home to its namesake, The Research Triangle Park.
Much like McLean County, Raleigh hosts a major interstate. Interstate 40 runs from coast to coast in the United States and passes through The Triangle. It is this convenience which makes the area so attractive to so many businesses. The Triangle is home to many prestigious universities such as The University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, and Duke University. Additionally, many national corporate headquarters may be found in the area as well. IBM, Cisco, and BASF are just a few of the major corporate entities which call The Triangle home.
North Carolina is also a productive agricultural state. The majority of commodities produced include corn, soybeans, wheat and tobacco. It is the technology and commerce which make Raleigh, however, such a unique home away from home. As a major hub for plant biotech business, Raleigh offers an opportunity for O’Neall Brothers and Scholl to expand and diversify the business. With the numerous agricultural start-ups and venture capital groups, OBS stands on the doorstep of an ever changing agricultural economy.
