Horizon Wind Farm develops, owns, constructs, and operates wind farms throughout the United States. By the end of 2007, Horizon Wind Farm expects to be the third largest producer of wind energy in the U.S. Projects stretch across 15 different states and continue to grow. Horizon Wind Farm was recently purchased by Engerias de Portugal from Goldman Sachs. OBS, L.L.C. partnered with Horizon Wind Farm to help facilitate the growth and development of Twin Groves Wind Farm in McLean County. The innovative project stretches across 21,000 acres of land, while only removing 150-200 acres of farm land. The project continues to move the United States towards a greener future with no-pollution, renewable energy sources. O’Neall Brothers and Scholl have leased land for 30 wind turbines, as well as the lay down area for the operations home base.
ExSeed Genetics was founded and operated in part by OBS managing member, Mark Scholl. Founded in 1994, ExSeed Genetics’ work primarily resided in carbohydrate chemistry. In 1998, ExSeed launched NutriDense, an elevated oil protein and amino acid corn hybrid. ExSeed became a wholly-owed subsidiary of the BASF Plant Science Division in 2000 to form one of the largest plant biotech companies in the world.
Lewis B. Osterbur and Associates is a specialty grain handler located in Quincy, Illinois. LBO and Associates specializes in contracting many types of crops which include Food-Grade, Waxy, High Amylose, Non-GMO, and NutriDense corn; as well as Clear Hilum and other Non-GMO beans. O’Neall Brothers and Scholl have developed a longstanding relationship with LBO through numerous business dealings which dates back to the early 1980s.
